Judith Rosenberg & James Kibblewhite (UK)
Judith started swing dancing in 2011 while at university and hasn’t stopped since! With a trained dance background in ballet, jazz and tap, Judith took quickly to all things swing. She has placed in a number of national lindy hop competitions and has taught workshops and classes around the UK. She teaches with high energy and enthusiasm, focusing on lead/follow technique, social dancing, and above all else – fun!
Kibble started Lindy Hop in early 2010. With a strong emphasis on quality of movement & timing, he excels on the social dance floor. However complex, simple, large or small, his moves are fluid and borne from the music. His teaching style has been described as clear, precise and in-depth, his dancing style incorporates quality of movement and freedom that inspires and encourages his follow.
Judith and Kibble have been dancing together since November 2012, after discovering they have a similar passion and shared ideologies for the dance. They regularly attend dance camps, events and are part of a London based dance troupe, the Hotfoot Strutters. Judith and Kibble have taught in locations across the UK including London, Liverpool, Bristol, Hull, Durham, Sheffield and Leeds. Between them they have also taught internationally at Barcelona, Germany and Poland.
Adam LaMontagne (US/FI) & Sanna Leinonen (FI)
Adam is a club-dancer turned swing dancer from the mean streets of Boston, Massachusetts. He has been dancing and teaching swing for over 10 years. Adam co-founded the Lindy League of Western Massachusetts swing dance organization, Crazylegs and Wicked Nines performance groups and he is the man behind lindyhop.fi, a website for balboa, lindy hop and solo jazz in Finland. Since 2010 Adam has been dancing and traveling around Finland and all over Europe to learn more, dance more and share the love of swing dancing.
Growing up by the arctic circle, in 2001 Sanna’s childhood dreams of learning how to dance were fulfilled as she dove into Finland’s lively social dancing scene. After having learned a variety of social dances she soon excelled in her skills, directing her into teaching right from the get go. Since 2007 Sanna has been intensively traveling for dancing, training balboa and lindy hop. Sanna has competed and placed in several national and international competitions, latest achievement being 3rd place in the European Swing Dance Championships’ Balboa Couples division.
Her exceptional abilities in perception and her analytical mind make her a sought teacher for groups and private lessons. In Sanna’s dancing you can see her love for swing music, the lightheartedness, gaiety and cheekiness of swing dancing.
Maryann & The Tri-Tones (ESTONIA)
Maryann & The Tri-Tones play authentic music from the 1940s and ’50s. During their 4 years of operating together they have performed shows in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Georgia and Latvia. Last year the bands debut album “Supersonic Gal” was released.
Mariann Lants – vocal
Peeter Karo – drums
Mari Laube – upright bass
Artur Skrõpnik – guitar
Gentlemen & Gangsters (SWEDEN)
Gentlemen & Gangsters play hot jazz with all the flair and sophistication of true gentlemen, coupled with the ruthless brutality
of hardened gangsters. Like a devious conspiracy from a bygone era, this shady syndicate of jazz kingpins plot for world domination from their secret location in a run down part of Gothenburg. Armed with drumsticks instead of knuckle dusters and trombones instead of tommy guns these deranged masterminds spread mayhem, joy, and decadence wherever they go.
You might have heard about them, you might even recognize some of the members from their more legitimate enterprises, and maybe you thought it was all just a rumor; after all – could such a band really exist? How could society allow it? How could they possibly have escaped the vice squad? Or even disease control, given the infectious jazz music that they are spreading? Well folks, all you need is a speedy getaway vehicle and a secret lair and the contraband jazz business is as easy as pie!
Henrik Johnsson, trombone
Thomas Rylander, clarinet, saxophones
Pål Walfridsson, trumpet & vocals
Peter Sundin, guitar
Anders Ljungberg, double bass
Johan Hjalmarsson, drums
There might come some slight changes then we will inform about them here and on Facebook event page!
